What does your company do?
Cull Martin and Associates, Inc. (CMA) is a full-service agency dedicated to nonprofit fund-raising. Our services include direct mail, direct response advertising and collateral.

What’s your role in the company?
As client services manager, I’m responsible for public relations. I get the word out on our clients’ newsworthy activities and also shine a light on our own company, publicizing awards we earn, seminars our employees conduct and other achievements. I also serve as department liaison, coordinating the efforts of our management and the creative and production departments for all of our client’s campaigns. This work includes coordinating schedules, organizing our participation in trade shows, maintaining spread sheets and managing preparation for client and community meetings, both at CMA and at clients’ headquarters.

Tell us about the special challenges you face in your job.
The biggest challenge is keeping activities on schedule in order to meet deadlines.

What training and prior experience led you to this point in your career?
I earned an A.A.S. degree in executive secretarial sciences from Broome Community College. I’ve also taken numerous professional development courses. I’ve worked as administrative coordinator for an international marketing firm in Princeton, N.J. and in the personnel and payroll services departments at Binghamton University. I joined CMA in 2007.

Why do you belong to CAST?
CAST provides an excellent opportunity for CMA and myself, because it allows us to network and socialize with people at other organizations within our genre.

What’s one of the most rewarding experiences you’ve had as a member of CAST?
It was exciting to represent CMA when our organization placed first and second in our category at the annual Genesis Awards.

Final Words?
I have found that CAST is a professional organization and an excellent venue in which to build supportive relationships, socialize, network and exchange ideas with other individuals. I believe it’s important to build rapport with other organizations within our community, so we can share ideas, helping to revitalize and stimulate growth in, and bring a brighter future to, the Greater Binghamton area.
