Jamie Knudsen, Account Assistant at Riger Advertising, Binghamton, N.Y., has been recognized as a “20 in their Twenties” honoree by the Southern Tier Opportunity Coalition (STOC). Twenty in their Twenties is a highly competitive program designed to honor the best and brightest young people who live, work or attend school in the Southern Tier and contribute to the region’s quality of life. Judges evaluate nominees on criteria including character, integrity, community service, personal growth, professional achievement, and leadership capability. STOC announced this year’s award winners at its second annual recognition ceremony, held at Traditions at the Glen in Johnson City, N.Y., on January 19, 2009.
Knudsen completed an internship at Riger in 2006 and was kept on as a part-timer while finishing her bachelor’s degree in Literature at Binghamton University. She joined Riger full time upon graduation and has been exceeding agency and client expectations, as well as growing as a person and young professional, ever since. In just three years, she has taken on a community service leadership role in Binghamton Sertoma, helped Conklin neighbors recover from devastating flooding, volunteered her time to help a blind woman through Faith in Action, provided leadership for a high school youth group, served as Sunday school superintendent and teacher at Conklin Presbyterian Church, and initiated and led Riger’s Salvation Army “Christmas Angel” drive. She recently starred as “Rusty” in her church’s production of “Footloose.”
Riger Advertising, a 25-year member of the American Association of Advertising Agencies, is Greater Binghamton’s largest marketing communications company, serving clients throughout New York and Pennsylvania since 1950.
