October 5, 2009 & February 22, 2010 —The Schorr Family Firehouse Stage Jazz Jams

 

This year we are planning to add additional networking and community service events to our calendar. These events will provide opportunities for us to work together, get to know each other better, and share our energies while giving back to our wonderful community.

The first event will be the United Way Day of Caring 2009 which takes place on Friday, September 11. Please take a look at your schedule and contact Kathy Buchta by Friday, August 21 if you are interested in getting involved.

Our assignment will be working on various outdoor cleanup projects at the United Way on the Vestal Parkway starting at 9am. We will be outdoors, painting the back area, cleaning the embankment, and cleaning gutters. How nice for CAST to be able to do something for the United Way. In addition to being an important community resource, the folks on the Vestal Parkway have graciously allowed us to use their facility as the drop off spot for Genesis entries and have stored our display easels for years.

We are looking for a minimum of 12 people for the full day, but if you can give half a day, we can put more people to work. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy aspecial dessert made by Kathy! First-come, first-served! Please sign up as soon as possible by contacting Kathy.

Next up: CAST will provide volunteer support for the Jazz Jams at The Schorr Family Firehouse Stage in Johnson City on two Monday evenings, October 5 and February 22. Sign up by September 5. Contact Kathy Buchta for more information.
